Coir is a compressed block of burrowing substrate.Ideal as a substrate for tortoises and is often mixed with top soil. It is 100% natural, organic and comes from sustainable resources. Biodegradable, non toxic, non abrasive. Wets quickly and holds water without draining. Instructions. Place block into tray or bucket, add 3 litres of warm water. Top up with more water as required. Leave for 1 hr to allow it to expand fully.PH5.4 - 6.8
Will produce approx 9L coir when expanded 
 
Please note:
We recommend lining all wooden enclosures with a waterproof liner before placing substrate in to preserve the life of the enclosure.
Although we throughly check all substrates, we do recommend that any substrates that are a natural product should be screened to ensure any unwanted items are removed prior to adding to your tortoise's enclosure.
