Tortoise anti-internal worm, tick and parasite medication
Absolute tortoise is a flubendazole based medication for use against intestinal helminthic worms and external ticks, to keep your tortoise in tip-top condition.
Dosage instructions enclosed
Easily treat your tortoise at home without the hassle of vet visits. Cloverleaf Absolute Wormer is a flubendazole-based treatment designed to combat intestinal helminth worms and external ticks, helping to keep your tortoise healthy with minimal stress.
Worms are common in tortoises and have historically contributed to unsuccessful hibernations. Most tortoises naturally carry some level of parasitic worms. While these may not cause issues when a tortoise is healthy, periods of stress or hibernation can weaken their immune system, allowing parasites to multiply. This product helps control tapeworms and other helminths, supporting better health and improving the chances of a successful hibernation.
For best results, treat your tortoise as it wakes from hibernation to aid recovery, then repeat treatment 2–4 times throughout the year—particularly before the next hibernation period.
Dosage Guide (per tortoise)
25g–250g: 1 level blue scoop
251g–2.5kg: 2 level blue scoops
Over 2.5kg: 3 level blue scoops
How to Use
Full instructions and a blue measuring scoop are included in the pack. Shake the sachet well before use and measure the correct dose for each animal.
Feeding Method (Recommended):
Sprinkle the measured dose over enough food for one meal per tortoise.
Lightly mist the food with warm water so the powder adheres properly.
Treat once daily per animal.
Bathing Method (Alternative):
Add one level scoop (0.3g / 0.5ml scoop provided) to 2 litres of lukewarm water and mix thoroughly.
Place the tortoise in the bath for approximately 20 minutes, ensuring the water level reaches halfway up the shell and the tortoise can comfortably raise its head above water.
Some tortoises may keep their heads submerged for several minutes while drinking—this is normal, provided they can easily lift their heads above the waterline.
Additional Guidance
If treating multiple tortoises, separate them during treatment.
Treatment can be repeated for up to 4 consecutive days if necessary, without adverse effects.
In cases of heavy infestation, a second course can be administered safely.
Always ensure the correct dose is given according to your tortoise’s weight for safe and effective treatment.
